Frequently asked questions:

  • Child must be a minimum age of 4 years old and be at least 100cm tall.

The child must be able to comprehend simple instructions for their safety and hold onto the handle bars next to them.

We are out for two hours, away from any facilities and cannot turn back if the child becomes unsettled or distressed. Our experience is that even when very young children have experience being on motor bikes or quad bikes, they are unable to sustain this activity for two hours.

  • Our Guide can take the ‘extra’ child on the back of their bike. All the children may want to take turns to ride with the Guide. Children younger than six, usually prefer to ride with their parents.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate larger families without extra adults.

  • We recommend closed in shoes when participating in our adventure safaris. However, we do understand that people often don’t pack closed in shoes when holidaying in the summer. Feet and legs are within the perimeter of the bike (in the footwell). However, there are times that we get off the bike and go for a walk to take in some scenery and talke some photos. You can always stay with the bike, if that poses a difficulty.

  • Our quad bikes can seat the driver and one passenger only. Combined weight should be 180kg or less.

  • If you want to drive a quad bike you must have your drivers license. We cannot modify the quad bike.

You have to be able to use both arms, and hands, and not have a weakness in the right hand and thumb.

The upper body must be able to support itself.

There is no requirement to use lower legs to control the bike, as brakes are operated with hands.

The passenger has a back rest, and handle bars on each side of the seat to maintain balance.

Please call us or email, to describe your particular circumstances. We will do our best to accommodate individual needs, as long as safety is not compromised.

  • We have had situations where a person is in the early stages of memory loss but they are still driving a car and have a valid license. As a drivers license is required for quad biking it might be assumed that will be okay. Most often it is not. It is extremely difficult to learn something new when memory loss is present. It requires a lot of repetition and reinforcement. And controlling a quad bike is a new skill to learn on top of being able to drive.

In our experience, it is not possible to learn to control a quad bike in a short time, as the person with memory less cannot remember the instructions. It is best if they ride as a passenger, but the whole experience may not be suitable. Please talk to us about your individual situation, as safety comes before fun, always.
